The Enterprise Network Architecture team continues to focus on the enterprise network lifecycle strategy and vendor roadmap information.

We created a network asset inventory database that will provide the basis for the upcoming lifecycle strategy. Some results from this data are attached. There are many questions to answer as part of the lifecycle strategy which is the focus of the next phase of the project. What is the appropriate lifecycle period for classes of devices? What areas should be prioritized for lifecycle? What products should we use for lifecycle?

The answer to these questions will come through continued dialog with Cisco toward their product roadmap and discussions with operational groups. The lifecycle strategy will move us further toward a real time services architecture, where we can reduce network latency and complexity, while improving network uptime. This strategy will provide the foundation for a cloud ready network.
